Final Front Fender

07/12/2023 Last front fender of 6 in total through these restorations, each one has been bare metal respray, this is the left hand which was patched repaired back in 2015. Now the fun begins all over again, rotary wire brushed followed by 5″ paint stripping disk, dirty job but that’s the way it is.

11/12/2023 Replacement of the wire in the rolled edge, never done a full length replacement, this was due to the state of disrepair when I took this truck on. There was two section of this fender replaced a 12″ length just forward of the centre of the wheel arch and a complete forward section ar the front. Wire edge add strength to the outer edge, basically sheet metal is wrapped around a 0.1 dia steel wire.

When both fronts are in primer the rear fenders which were hand made will be prepped.

Taken a while to get to these rears which are a partial copy of my PD fenders with the trailing edge of the wheel arch modified to match the front fenders.

14/03/2024 Front fenders are now ready for top coat, so I have now completed most of the prep work on the hand crafted rear fenders, once this prep work is finished all four fender will be top coated before going into store for safe keeping.
